Job Summary:
The Convenience Store & Fuel Station Site
Manager is responsible for maintaining oversight of all station operations and
staff. This position requires a high level of customer service and customer
interaction. Reliable and regular attendance is crucial.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Day-to-day oversight of Fuel Station staff.
Responsible for hiring, firing and disciplinary action as well as provide work direction, motivation and coaching to
staff during shifts to ensure assigned tasks are completed in accordance with
Hattenhauer’s guidelines and expectations.
Essential Functions (in a typical work week):
Any
employee may be required by their manager to perform any of the duties
described in their position description, and other duties which may be
necessary or desirable for which the employee is qualified.

Perform all duties of Cashier & Fuel
Station Attendant(s) and Assistant Manager as needed/necessary.

Maintain courteous, professional contact
with co-workers, customers, vendors and community at large
·
Support and adhere to execution of established
safety, security, quality guidelines, as well as all other Hattenhauer
policies, procedures, practices, and programs
·
Role-model safe behaviors
·
Provide work direction to the Assistant Manager to ensure station
operations are covered including, but not limited to customer service,
stocking, cleaning, food-service and overall personnel management of the staff.

Assist with product inventory management and overseeing promotional
sales prices.
·
Responsible for managing all financial transactions of fuel stations.
·
Responsible for adjusting fuel prices that are in alignment with company
procedures.
·
Support and adhere to Hattenhauer's cash/money handling and
accountability processes; comply with Loss Prevention processes; effectively
utilize all transactional equipment (cash registers, electronic safe, lottery,
fuel, phone card, EBT, and credit card, etc.) to efficiently process customer
transactions

The individual in this position may be asked,
on occasion, to assist other positions as needed/necessary.
Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent customer
service skills.

Good verbal
communication skills.

Ability to operate
available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.

Basic mathematical
skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
●
Knowledgeable about
company's products and services, and customer-related policies.
●
Knowledge of the supply of goods,
sale of goods and the related financial aspects. The supply of goods entails
the selection of goods, import and transfer. The financial aspect includes the
processing of purchasing and sales invoices, payments etc. The sale of goods
implies the proper presentation and positioning of the goods in the shop in
terms of accessibility, promotion, light exposure, etc.

Knowledge of the types of fuel available
on the market such as petrol, diesel, bio-fuel, etc.
●
Knowledge of the law which mediates the relationship between employees
and employers. Understanding of employees' rights at work.
Education
and Experience:
- High school diploma or
equivalent preferred.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- Food handlers card preferred.
- Experience as a manager or supervisor required.
- A combination of relevant work
experience may be considered in lieu of education preferences.
Physical Requirements:
●
Prolonged periods
standing and working on cash register or related equipment.
●
Must be able to lift
up to 15 pounds at times.
●
May need to work
nights, weekends, and holidays.
●
Ability to perform
repetitive movements over long periods of time.
Work Environment:
General retail environment, which may contain
exposure to moderate levels of noise in a moderate to fast-paced
environment. Some weekend, evening and
holiday hours may be required. Frequent
face-to-face contact with colleagues and customers.
